Diet No. 16 (dietary table No. 16), permitted, prohibited foods

We write interestingly about training, proper nutrition and everything related to healthy life and fitness.

Often, when prescribing drug treatment, the attending doctor prescribes a specific diet. Indeed, depending on the state of the body, a certain diet may be required, which will allow you to recover as quickly as possible and cope with the disease. Today, diets of tables are used, which were prescribed by Pevzner in the last century. He believed that any pathology should be treated comprehensively, and nutrition plays an important role in this process. The consistency of this theory has been confirmed by time, because if the pancreas hurts, then fried food and alcohol will only aggravate the situation. And with hypertension, salty foods will only increase blood pressure, and so on. There are diets that allow you to lose weight or, on the contrary, gain weight.

Pevzner has developed several types of diets, depending on their purpose: anti-inflammatory, prophylactic, hyposensitizing , nutrition after surgery, and so on.

Diet table number 16 is recommended in the presence of gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer. With other gastric diseases, such as gastroduodenitis, gastritis. It is indicated after gastric bleeding, operations, tonsillectomy, after table number 1A and in a number of other cases. This diet is designed for adults and children. Its duration is short, about 2 weeks. In fact, this is a transitional diet to a normal diet.

Indications for the use of diet No. 16

The main goal of this diet is to alleviate the general condition of the patient in the presence of stomach diseases and a smooth transition to a normal diet. It is also used after abdominal operations. It is assigned to persons who observe a semi-bed regime. That is, a person is in a lying or sitting position about 50% of the time.

Diet food provides all the physiological needs of the patient, saturates his body with all the necessary substances and vitamins. Food products are selected in such a way that they do not irritate the mucous membrane of the stomach and other internal organs, as well as that the patient does not have to spend a lot of energy on its digestion. The calorie content of the diet is small, only 2 thousand calories. Absolutely all foods that can stimulate appetite and provoke additional production of gastric juice are removed from the menu. The diet stimulates the healing of erosions on the mucous membrane and reduces the overall negative impact of the disease on the body.
